Ciné-Concert Orphée noir (2025)

At the invitation of the Maison des Mondes Africains, Yure Romão created an immersive live film concert based on Marcel Camus’s 1959 film Black Orpheus (Orfeu Negro). He reinterprets the film’s soundtrack live, alongside major works from Black Brazilian popular music. The project highlights the Black artists who contributed to the film without being officially credited. Through this reinterpretation, Yure Romão offers an artistic form of redress and a reflection on the legacy of this iconic work.
